Job Description

LifeBridge Health is a dynamic and purpose-driven health system dedicated to redefining care delivery across the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. Committed to improving the health of the communities it serves, LifeBridge Health focuses on advancing access to healthcare services, enhancing patient experience, and fostering innovative, community-centered care models. With more than 14,000 employees and 130 care locations, LifeBridge Health operates five leading centers in the Baltimore region, which include Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Grace Medical Center, Northwest Hospital, Carroll Hospital, and Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital. The organization thrives on a culture defined by CARE BRAVELY — emphasizing compassion, courage, and urgency in every decision to empower teams to shape the future of healthcare.

This role is for a Per Diem Medical Administrative Assistant position at Sinai Hospital's Department of Medicine, specifically supporting the Endocrinology Faculty Practice Plan. This per diem, or PRN (pro re nata) position means that the employee works on an as-needed basis with varying hours, offering flexibility ideal for candidates seeking a supplementary role or varying schedule. The pay rate ranges between $17.00 and $27.29 per hour and is experience-based.

The Medical Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring efficient daily office operations and delivering a seamless, patient-centered experience. The successful candidate will provide essential clerical and administrative support, managing patient interactions effectively while coordinating providers' calendars and appointments. Key responsibilities include answering incoming calls, triaging inquiries, greeting patients and visitors warmly, scheduling appointments, maintaining provider schedules, and assisting with meeting or conference arrangements.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal communication, especially when interacting with a diverse patient population. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 3 to 5 years of relevant administrative experience, ideally in a healthcare setting, and bilingual proficiency in Russian is preferred to facilitate communication with a broader patient community.

LifeBridge Health offers a collaborative work environment centered on innovation and outcomes, especially valuing members contributing to critical care delivery. Employees have access to professional growth opportunities, such as tuition reimbursement and career development in neonatal critical care leadership and advanced certifications. Additionally, the organization supports its staff through resources like unit-based practice councils and advanced clinical education, enhancing workflow efficiency and patient outcomes. Benefits include competitive compensation with additional pay options such as overtime and shift differentials, comprehensive health plans, free parking, and wellness programs.

By joining LifeBridge Health, the Medical Administrative Assistant becomes part of a respected and expanding health system with a solid commitment to equity, inclusion, and nondiscrimination, ensuring a respectful and welcoming workplace for all employees and patients. This position offers the chance to contribute directly to patient care coordination and the smooth functioning of one of Baltimore's premier medical practice environments, with a flexible schedule suitable for work-life balance and personal professional goals.
