Job Description
Brio Living Services is a compassionate and faith-based non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors across a variety of senior living communities. They provide a wide range of maintenance-free and amenity-rich living options tailored to meet the diverse needs of their residents. Their continuum of care spans from independent living to assisted living, skilled nursing care, rehabilitation services, memory care, and more. Brio Living Services is deeply committed to promoting vibrant aging by fostering a sense of community, wellness, and overall satisfaction among seniors. They emphasize creating environments where residents can pursue their passions, interests, and cultivate meaningful friendships that lead to lifelong memories. With strong partnerships within the community and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Brio Living Services is widely recognized as a trusted and respected name in senior care and living.
The role of Medication Technician at Brio Living Services is a rewarding and impactful part-time position primarily scheduled during the second shift, from 2 pm to 10:15 pm, with varying shifts Monday through Friday, including every other weekend. This role is centered in the Assisted Living Department, where the Medication Technician acts as a pivotal caregiver and health advocate for residents. The technician is responsible for administering medications and treatments accurately according to individualized care plans, assisting residents with personal care activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting, and supporting nutritional intake during mealtimes. This position requires compassionate interaction, promoting mobility through safe transfers and positioning, performing vital sign measurements, and responding promptly to residents' needs.
Beyond the core responsibilities, the Medication Technician plays an essential role in maintaining residents' comfort by overseeing tidy and well-stocked living spaces. Vigilance in monitoring residents' medical and emotional conditions and promptly reporting any changes to the leadership team is crucial. The role demands respect, professionalism, and confidentiality to ensure the dignity and privacy of residents while delivering high-quality care.
Brio Living Services supports this position with numerous benefits and opportunities for career advancement, such as tuition assistance and educational scholarships, a wellness reimbursement program, and comprehensive part-time benefits that include vision care, mental health programs, legal plans, and voluntary life insurance. A retirement savings plan with employer contributions and daily pay options are also offered. The company fosters a supportive workplace, encouraging employee growth and rewarding team member referrals.
This position requires candidates to be at least 18 years old with a minimum of one year of medication passing experience in a healthcare setting. Previous caregiving experience, particularly with seniors or in long-term care, is preferred alongside the physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds unaided. Familiarity with electronic medication administration records (EMAR) systems is an advantage but not mandatory. Brio Living Services is committed to accessibility and reasonable accommodation for all applicants, maintaining an equal opportunity employment policy regardless of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or genetics. Joining Brio Living Services means becoming part of a dedicated team focused on making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, where every shift offers the chance to create connection, purpose, and uplift others.
