Job Description
DriveTime is a leader in the automotive retail industry, dedicated to providing quality pre-owned vehicles with excellent customer service. As a company, DriveTime focuses on a streamlined reconditioning process to ensure each vehicle meets high standards before delivery to dealerships, enhancing the customer’s satisfaction and trust in their product. With a commitment to innovation and employee development, DriveTime fosters a professional and collaborative work environment where employees are empowered to excel in their roles and contribute to the company’s ongoing success. The company prioritizes safety, quality, and efficiency in all operational aspects, particularly within the Reconditioning Center, which plays a critical role in preparing vehicles for sale.
The role of Team Lead at DriveTime is a pivotal leadership position within the Reconditioning Center where you will oversee and motivate a team of Technicians, Cosmetic Associates, and Detailers. This position entails supervising the repair work completed on inventory vehicles, ensuring that all mechanical and cosmetic issues are identified and corrected before vehicles are delivered to dealerships. The Team Lead is responsible for managing car movement within the Reconditioning Center, maintaining a safe work environment, and achieving or exceeding production and quality goals. This leadership role requires a hands-on approach, where active participation in inspection and repair processes helps streamline operations and foster decision-making that improves overall effectiveness.
A successful Team Lead at DriveTime must demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to manage diverse teams effectively, and an initiative-driven approach to problem-solving and leadership. This role demands attention to detail to minimize re-checks and delays, ensuring that all team members perform their tasks efficiently and safely. Maintenance of a positive workplace culture is also emphasized, as the Team Lead embodies the DriveTime brand and contributes to a professional and respectful work environment. This position requires a high level of physical activity, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to regular, predictable attendance.
Candidates for this role should have substantial experience in automotive management and technical expertise, along with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. The ability to mentor and train team members, coupled with strong organizational skills, will be essential for meeting daily, weekly, and monthly production targets. DriveTime offers an opportunity to lead within a dynamic, high-functioning team environment, where collaboration and mutual support are keys to company and personal success. The Team Lead role is integral to sustaining DriveTime’s reputation for quality and customer satisfaction in the competitive automotive market. This position typically operates with a focus on both employee development and process optimization, making it ideal for candidates seeking to grow their careers in automotive leadership while making a tangible impact on operational outcomes.
