The Mechanical Assembly Lead role at Thomson Power Systems offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the growth and success of the Arlington facility. This full-time, onsite position entails leadership responsibility on the production floor, where you will work closely with the Plant Manager, Production Supervisor, and cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence. You will be responsible for leading mechanical assembly efforts related to switchgear enclosures, frames, and bus structures, ensuring all work conforms to detailed drawings, work instructions, and bills of materials.

Your leadership will be pivotal in coordinating daily task assignments, balancing workloads among assembly team members, and adjusting priorities to meet production schedules effectively. Additionally, you will play a key role in safety, quality, and productivity by facilitating daily tier meetings, conducting Gemba walks, and driving compliance with Regal Business Systems (RBS) standards and ISO regulations. Promoting Lean manufacturing principles and upholding the company's Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives will also be fundamental aspects of this role.

This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $29 to $35 based on experience, with a schedule from 5:45 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday through Friday. Job Requirements

  • Must successfully complete employer-provided training during first 6 weeks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Ability to prepare and enter data accurately into spreadsheets
  • Ability to work overtime as required

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED
  • Technical diploma or certifications in electrical, manufacturing, or related fields preferred
  • At least 5 years of manufacturing experience in electrical panel/switchgear assembly
  • Experience leading a crew of assemblers or technicians
  • Strong knowledge of low/medium voltage switchgear assembly, wiring, and testing
  • Ability to read complex electrical schematics and work instructions
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and solving practical electrical and mechanical problems
  • Demonstrated adherence to Regal Rexnord values of integrity, responsibility, and performance

Job Duties

  • Lead the mechanical assembly of switchgear enclosures, frames, and bus structures according to drawings, work instructions, and BOM
  • Assign daily tasks and balance workload across team members
  • Assist the Production Supervisor with preparation and setup of workstations and materials
  • Update and lead daily tier meetings, Gemba walks, and VDM with associates per RBS standards
  • Ensure compliance with work instructions, standards, and specifications
  • Proactively promote RBS and company values
  • Promote and practice Lean manufacturing processes
  • Follow and drive consistent compliance with site ISO standards
  • Ensure adherence to all EHS procedures and goals
  • Collaborate on investigations related to Safety and Quality issues
