Mechanic Role Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Mechanic to join our team and take charge of day-to-day operations within our maintenance wing. This role involves operating a diverse range of hand tools, such as hammers, files, drills, presses, pedestal grinders, belt grinders, low-temperature ovens, and hand grinders to perform various intricate operations like blending, grinding, blasting, stripping, chasing threads, deburring, angle checking, coldworking metals, and masking.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in restoring turbine engine hot section components to their required contours and profiles using specialized techniques defined in the engine manuals. Attention to detail, adherence to standard work processes, and collaboration with team members are crucial in ensuring quality and efficiency of repairs and maintenance.

Positions are available on the 1st shift, providing a stable and consistent work schedule.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience working with various hand tools like grinders, sanders, and pneumatic tools
  • Minimum 2 years experience with basic inspection tools such as calipers and height gauges
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs without assistance
  • Able to stand for at least 50% of the time during blending process

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience with hand tools such as grinders, sanders, pneumatic tools
  • Experience in basic machine tool operation
  • Skilled with basic inspection tools like calipers and height gauges
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Willingness to learn and handle multiple tasks
  • Familiarity with tooling, equipment, technical data, and inspection aids for overhauling hot section turbine components

Job Duties

  • Conduct sheet metal forming and blending on turbine engine components using belt sander, pneumatic tools, pedestal grinders, and hand tools
  • Ensure maintenance operations follow the correct sequence
  • Label all test equipment and tools for airworthiness determinations according to RSQM before use
  • Complete necessary paperwork accurately
  • Follow all maintenance and alteration processes in line with established standard work processes
  • Support cell personnel with maintenance or alterations documentation
  • Perform routine in-process quality checks to confirm work quality
  • Track and communicate status of assigned work orders to meet on-time delivery
  • Cover for absent team members to maintain workflow continuity
  • Perform start-up and shut down activities while keeping the facility clean as assigned
