Pacific Ag Rentals is a reputable company specializing in the rental and maintenance of agricultural and industrial equipment. With multiple branch locations, Pacific Ag Rentals is committed to providing high-quality equipment rental services and excellent customer support to help businesses effectively manage their machinery needs. The company prides itself on professionalism, safety, and delivering reliable equipment solutions for agricultural, construction, and industrial sectors. They strive to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment to ensure productivity and customer satisfaction.

The Shop Mechanic Tier 2 position at Pacific Ag Rentals is a crucial role focused on independently repairing and maintaining rental equipment while delivering exceptional service to both internal teams and external customers. The Shop Mechanic will work primarily at an assigned branch, performing detailed inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks on diverse equipment such as tractors, agricultural water pumps, large electrical generators, light towers, and more. This role requires mechanical aptitude combined with the ability to make sound decisions quickly and accurately. Though the mechanic will operate independently, mentorship is provided by the Service Manager, Shop Supervisor, and other supervisory personnel to ensure consistent high standards and timely repairs.

As a Shop Mechanic Tier 2, the employee will be expected to inspect and document equipment conditions upon return, identify necessary repairs, and manage part requisitions efficiently. This helps ensure rental equipment remains safe, operational, and ready for the next customer. In addition to in-shop duties, mechanics may also assist in field service tasks, vehicle maintenance, and deliveries, providing valuable support to the overall operation. The role emphasizes communication skills for effective coordination with supervisors, other mechanics, and staff members about shop needs and repair statuses.

Candidates should be comfortable handling a variety of machinery, including forklifts, large tractors, water trucks, RTVs, and jacks. They should have experience with basic electrical diagnostics, hydraulics, tire changes, oil changes, and minor body repairs. Proactive problem-solving to reduce business costs by identifying damaged or missing parts is a vital component of the job. The Shop Mechanic Tier 2 must maintain a neat and organized workspace, demonstrate professionalism, and follow strict safety procedures.

Ideal candidates for this position will have at least two years of relevant experience with a proven record of quality repairs, strong decision-making abilities, and effective interpersonal skills. Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite, is preferred. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are an asset, enhancing communication versatility within diverse teams and customer bases. The working environment varies between office, shop, and yard spaces, with moderate noise levels and exposure to different weather conditions. Physical demands include lifting heavy weights, operating equipment safely, and performing various physical activities with agility and endurance.

This employment opportunity offers the chance to develop and refine mechanical skills through company-sponsored training programs. The organization encourages a positive team environment where employees interact constructively with peers, management, and clients. Maintaining a valid driver’s license and safe driving record is a requirement for those authorized to operate company vehicles. In summary, this role provides a dynamic and rewarding career path for experienced mechanics passionate about equipment maintenance and customer service excellence in a reputable company.
