The Culinary/Meat Teammate position at Woods Supermarket is an exciting and dynamic role within the fresh culinary department. Reporting directly to the Culinary Manager or Store Manager, this role is integral to enhancing the guest experience by supporting new promotions and meal preparation initiatives. The role demands a passionate individual who is eager to develop strong culinary skills and contribute to creating delicious, fresh food that meets company standards. Responsibilities include preparing fresh food items, suggesting innovative cooking methods for multiple items simultaneously, creating sauces or toppings, and maintaining a clean and sanitized workstation.

In addition to food preparation, the Culinary/Meat Teammate interacts directly with guests by verbally receiving and confirming orders in a friendly manner, reinforcing Woods Supermarket's dedication to outstanding customer service. The position requires adherence to strict health and safety guidelines, food safety knowledge, general knife handling, and the use of various kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, fryers, and slicers. The teammate must ensure consistent food quality following standardized recipes and supervisor instructions.

The work environment is characterized by indoor conditions that may include extreme fluctuations in temperature from coolers, freezers, and equipment. The position involves significant physical activity, including sitting, standing, stooping, squatting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, twisting, lifting, climbing, carrying, walking, and kneeling. Candidates must be physically capable of safely handling and operating equipment such as slicers, ovens, fryers, knives, mixers, case cutters, utility knives, forklifts (with certification), pallet jacks, and compact balers.
