Job Description

Whole Foods Market is a leading grocery retailer recognized worldwide for its commitment to natural and organic foods, sustainability, and community welfare. Established as a go-to destination for high-quality, fresh, and ethically sourced products, Whole Foods Market goes beyond conventional grocery shopping to provide meaningful contributions to health, wellness, and environmental stewardship. At the heart of Whole Foods Market is a dedication to nourishing people and the planet, with initiatives including funding grants for school gardens, improving food access in underserved communities, and supporting poverty alleviation efforts in developing countries. This mission fuels a vibrant, inclusive workplace culture focused on personal growth, community impact, and industry innovation.

Joining Whole Foods Market means becoming part of a dynamic team eager to set new standards of excellence and revolutionize the grocery industry through sustainable practices and exceptional customer service. Entirely committed to making a difference both locally and globally, Whole Foods Market embraces its identity as world-changers rather than just a typical retail grocery store.

The role being offered is for a dedicated Meat Team Member, a vital position contributing to the department through tasks related to counter service, stocking, and maintaining sanitation standards. This retail position emphasizes a positive company image by delivering courteous, friendly, and effective service to customers and coworkers. Team Members are expected to adhere strictly to the store's Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring compliance with health, food safety, and regulatory requirements. Aside from core responsibilities, this role demands flexibility to perform related duties within other team roles and actively support the company’s core values and ongoing initiatives.

As a Meat Team Member, you will play an essential part in maintaining a fresh, appealing meat department display. Responsibilities include checking product quality, stocking shelves, rotating inventory to remove out-of-date products, and keeping display cases and areas clean. You will also engage customers through sampling programs, provide top-tier customer service, and utilize effective suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales. The role involves regular cleaning and sanitation of tools and areas like glass cases, coolers, and floors to uphold Whole Foods Market's high cleanliness and safety standards.

Candidates for this role should possess a passion for natural foods, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. There is no prior retail experience required, making this an excellent entry-level opportunity. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work standing or walking for extended hours, including operating necessary tools and machinery relevant to the position.

Working hours provide flexibility and may require availability on nights, weekends, and holidays. Compensation ranges from $17.50 to $25.40 hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers a comprehensive "Whole Benefits" package, covering health and wellness support, paid time off, store discounts, financial wellness programs, and other perks. Opportunities for advancement are available based on performance and business needs. The company prides itself on fostering a fair and equal employment opportunity environment, welcoming diverse candidates for employment without bias.
