This role is for a Team Member within the Meat Department, where the individual plays an integral part in supporting the meat team's daily operations. The position involves a variety of responsibilities such as counter service, stocking, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring fresh and appealing merchandise displays. Employment is hourly with a wage range from $18.00 to $25.40, commensurate with experience. The role requires adherence to team and store Standard Operating Procedures and compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards. Job Requirements

  • No prior retail experience required
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Able to stand or walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
  • Proficient with hand use including single grasping fine manipulation pushing and pulling
  • Able to perform motions including bending twisting squatting and reaching
  • Able to work with FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Able to tolerate temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Able to work in wet and cold environments
  • Able to handle knives and other cutting equipment
  • Flexible to work nights weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters electric pallet jacks and other heavy machinery

Job Duties

  • Ensure a fresh and appealing display by checking quality keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked rotating and removing out-of-date products filling ice tables and performing other duties as assigned
  • Maintain back stock in good order
  • Assist with sampling program keeping sample areas full clean and appealing
  • Clean cases glass signs uprights coolers smokers floors and drains as required
  • Arrive to work station on time appropriately groomed dressed and ready to work work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings
  • Provide excellent customer service address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques answer phones and pages promptly and courteously
  • Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping storing rotating stocking and merchandising product
  • Follow and comply or ensure compliance with established procedures including Weights and Measures health and sanitation and safe work practices
  • Maintain or ensure maintenance of a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment maintain equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards
  • Perform opening mid and closing duties as assigned ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
  • Immediately report safety hazards and violations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by store regional or national leadership
