This position offers a wage range between $15.00 and $24.40 hourly, depending on experience, and eligibility for Whole Foods Market’s comprehensive Whole Benefits package. Both full-time and part-time team members can qualify, with eligibility criteria based on hire date, length of service, and job type. New team members who successfully complete their first 90 days may qualify for a base rate increase.

Working as part of the meat team involves maintaining fresh and appealing product displays through constant quality checks, proper stocking and rotation, and routine cleaning of equipment and work areas. You will support sales by engaging customers with product knowledge and assisting with sampling programs, always striving to maximize sales potential while adhering to company and regulatory standards.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing and walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • Use of hand motions including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Ability to perform motions including bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Exposure to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery

  • No prior retail experience required

Job Duties

  • Ensure a fresh and appealing display by checking quality, keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, rotating and removing out-of-date products, filling ice tables, and performing other duties as assigned
  • Maintain back stock in good order
  • Assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing
  • Clean cases, glass, signs, uprights, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as required
  • Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and modeling suggestive selling techniques
  • Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • Follow and comply with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • Report safety hazards and violations immediately
  • Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
