The Meat Team Member position at Whole Foods Market is an exciting entry-level role within the meat department that involves a variety of responsibilities designed to ensure a fresh, appealing, and safe product display and customer experience. This role includes duties related to counter service, stocking, sanitation, and adhering to quality and safety standards. The employment type is hourly with a wage range of $17.00 to $25.40 per hour, commensurate with experience. In this role, Meat Team Members will ensure that meat cases and shelves remain clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing by checking product quality, rotating products to remove outdated items, and maintaining ice tables. They will also keep backstock organized and assist with the store's sampling programs by keeping sample areas clean and inviting. Additionally, they will perform cleaning duties including sanitizing cases, glass, signs, floors, and drains. Team members will be expected to arrive on time, be properly groomed and dressed, work their full scheduled shifts, and participate in training sessions and meetings as required. Providing excellent customer service is a key component of the job, responding to customer needs promptly, demonstrating suggestive selling techniques, and handling phone and paging communications professionally. The role requires following established procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products to maximize sales potential while complying with health, safety, and regulatory requirements. The Meat Team Member will also perform shift-related opening, mid, and closing duties and report any safety hazards immediately.
