This well-established company prides itself on its rigorous meat-selection criteria, precise beef aging processes, and expert trimming techniques. Catering to a wide variety of culinary needs from upscale white-linen restaurant presentations to casual family dining options, Chicago Stock Yards ensures the highest quality meat products selected from an extensive assortment that meets both quality and budgetary requirements. Located in Aurora, Illinois, the Chicago Stock Yards facility stands out as a center of excellence for meat procurement and processing within the broader US Foods brand.
The role offered is a Meat Processing Associate position based in the Chicago Stock Yards facility. This is a first-shift role with a schedule from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with additional overtime and Saturday work when necessary. The role demands working in refrigerated environments and may require sustained physical activity, including lifting and carrying heavy items and extensive periods of standing. The company offers competitive pay with an expected base rate between $20.00 and $20.75 per hour, with overtime compensation as applicable. This position is ideal for individuals experienced or seeking experience in food production, warehouse operations, or manufacturing environments, particularly in meat processing.
The Meat Processing Associate plays a critical role in the preparation and packaging of meat products to meet production demands. Responsibilities include adhering strictly to USDA Safety and Sanitation Regulations and customer specifications, utilizing a variety of tools and processes for efficient packaging and processing, conducting visual inspections to ensure product quality, and maintaining cleanliness in the work area to comply with safety standards. This role requires flexibility to work in a cold environment ranging from 35 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit and occasionally in freezer temperatures from -10 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit, equipped with company-provided protective apparel.
This position not only provides an opportunity to develop hands-on skills in a fast-paced meat processing environment but also to contribute to a company with a rich heritage and commitment to quality. Employees are valued for their dedication to safety, quality, and teamwork as they help support the food industry’s supply chain. In addition to competitive wages, employees benefit from a comprehensive package including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, disability coverage, and an employee stock purchase plan. Spanish-speaking applicants are encouraged to apply as the company supports a bilingual work environment. Chicago Stock Yards offers a career path in food production with an emphasis on quality assurance and operational excellence, making it an excellent opportunity for those seeking to join a respected establishment in the foodservice industry.
