Job Requirements
- working knowledge of all meat department job duties including cutting, wrapping, steaming, grinding, cubing, tenderizing and customer service

- knowledge of profit and loss statements
- ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
- good attendance is required
- exposure to hazards associated with cutting equipment
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in meat cutting and department supervision preferred
- familiarity with food safety regulations and health standards
- experience in retail or grocery meat department operations

Job Duties
- Champion company and division customer service programs
- handle customer relations positively including complaint resolution
- supervise day-to-day meat department functions to achieve sales and profit objectives
- supervise, motivate, train, and hire meat department personnel
- monitor associate performance and recommend personnel actions
- schedule personnel to ensure adequate coverage and budget compliance
- conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with quality, trimming, grinding, sanitation, safety, and security standards
- assist with meat department duties such as receiving, storage, cutting, grinding, wrapping, packaging, and stocking
- implement promotional and seasonal displays
- control shrink and expenses
- complete and monitor daily log sheets, purchase reports, sales and labor paperwork
- order, receive, and control inventory maintaining proper levels and quality
- maintain and organize meat department cooler and freezer
- ensure product quality standards for trimming, grinding, labeling, and wrapping
- implement merchandising according to schematics and comply with labeling laws and company policies
- enforce company pricing and product handling policies
- monitor competitor pricing and merchandising
- assist customers with special orders and product suggestions
- ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
- respond appropriately to incoming calls and customer complaints
- attend required training sessions
- maintain and clean meat cutting equipment
- assist with emergency procedures
- train and instruct associates in work duties and report performance
- maintain confidentiality of company and employee information
- perform all duties safely, accurately, and with integrity
