The Meat Department Lead role at Sam's Club Visalia is a pivotal leadership position responsible for driving sales and managing a team of hourly associates to deliver exceptional fresh meat products and services to members. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Successfully complete all job required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period if hired
  • 6 months experience in a meat production department or 6 months experience supervising a team

  • Meat processing including boneless and bone-in products
  • Supervising associates
  • Food Handler Certification (Food Safety) - Certification

Job Duties

  • Lead and inspire a team of associates in your area to execute the business plan and deliver exceptional member experiences
  • Set clear goals, expectations, and standards for quality, production, and member service
  • Advocate for the member, the associate, and the company every day
  • Partner with cross functional team leaders to deliver a seamless total club experience
  • Maintain deep knowledge of fresh operations on the floor and in the backroom, including product specifications, seasonality, and production expectations
  • Ensure your area meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, equipment usage, production, food safety, sanitation, and compliance
  • Train and upskill your team on processes, recipes/specs (as applicable), safe handling, and consistent execution
  • Use digital tools and handheld technology to plan, forecast, and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement
  • Drive business results while maintaining a neat, clean, and safe work area for the team and the members
  • Own inventory, ordering, audits, and compliance standards while identifying shrink and preventing loss
  • Produce, merchandise, and display product according to the merchandise layout plan, with consistency in standards and presentation
  • Teach, train, and develop associates by identifying training needs and building the skills required to deliver high quality products and service
  • Encourage career growth for team members and help source talent internally and externally to build a strong bench
