The role available is for a Full-Time Meat Cutter at the Perrysburg location. This position plays a critical role within the Meat Department by ensuring that all meat products are carefully and precisely cut, weighed, wrapped, and presented to meet Walt Churchill's Market's high-quality standards. Reporting directly to the Meat Department Manager, the Meat Cutter is responsible for maintaining the freshness and appealing presentation of the meat case, as well as efficiently fulfilling customer orders and special requests with professionalism and care. As a key front-line position, the Meat Cutter interacts with customers regularly and must provide excellent customer service while assisting with general department tasks such as preparing burgers, marinades, and stocking meat products.
This role requires someone who loves great food and is passionate about consistently delivering quality work while respecting co-workers and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Skilled operation of equipment such as slicers, saws, grinders, and knives is essential, alongside maintaining advanced knowledge of meat products and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- high school diploma or GED
- 1+ years meat cutting experience required
- portion cutting experience preferred
- ability to communicate clearly
- comfortable working with the public and greeting, speaking with, and assisting customers
- attention to detail
- ensuring duties are completed correctly and on time
- prolonged periods of standing, walking, twisting, lifting, bending, reaching, and operating meat cutting equipment
- occasional instances of pushing and pulling carts
- must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 90 pounds
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare various meats and meat products, keeping the meat case fresh and full
- cut, weigh, wrap, and price product
- follow a cut list, control waste, and rotate product
- take customer orders and/or special requests
- fulfill requests, meeting WCM standards
- assist with general meat department tasks including assisting customers at the meat counter, preparing burgers and marinades, and stocking product
- safely and effectively operate equipment such as slicers, saws, grinders, and knives
- maintain advanced meat product knowledge
- maintain general sanitation practices, food safety practices, and food storage practices within store and health department standards
