Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Ability to safely handle sharp tools and equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in meat cutting or fresh food preparation preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards and food safety practices
  • Ability to operate and maintain meat cutting and grinding equipment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Proficiency with digital tools and handheld technology
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to teamwork and operational excellence
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technology

Job Duties

  • Collaborates with team members to build a strong meat department team
  • Communicates effectively with team and management
  • Adapts to business needs and works in other store areas when required
  • Demonstrates knowledge of product safety, sanitation, and inventory management
  • Prepares meat products by cutting, grinding, trimming, and wrapping according to standards
  • Maintains equipment operation, cleanliness, and sanitization
  • Uses handheld technology to support sales and decision-making
  • Ensures operational excellence by maintaining work area cleanliness and organization
  • Controls quality, date labeling, and packaging of meat products
  • Assists members with purchasing decisions and answers product-related questions
  • Applies company policies and ethics in daily work
  • Completes work assignments and communicates progress
  • Identifies improvement opportunities and adapts to changes
  • Models high-quality service and product standards
  • Maintains positive member interactions by smiling and greeting members
