The Meat Cutter position is vital within the meat department, responsible for breaking down, cutting, and preparing various meat products according to company standards. The individual in this role utilizes both hand tools and power equipment to process meat in different varieties, sizes, quantities, and trims as required. The Meat Cutter prepares meat products for display in the store or for specific customer orders, ensuring that all products meet quality and safety standards. This role also requires interaction with customers to take special orders, addressing their preferences and providing excellent service. Collaboration with Meat Clerks and the Meat Manager is essential to prioritize cutting tasks and maintain operational efficiency. Physically, this job demands the ability to perform very heavy lifting, bending, standing, and stooping for extended periods, fitting the fast-paced grocery store environment. Employees must have a Food Handler Card or an equivalent certification verifying their training and competence in food preparation, handling, and service.
