Job Description

The Home Depot is a well-established American multinational home improvement retail company known for its extensive range of products and exceptional customer service. As one of the largest home improvement retailers in the world, The Home Depot prides itself on delivering high-quality products and services to homeowners, professional contractors, and do-it-yourself enthusiasts. With a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and innovation, The Home Depot continually seeks talented individuals to join its Field Services Organization, a critical part of the company dedicated to ensuring seamless service delivery and customer support.

Within the Home Depot's Field Services Organization, the role of the Measure Technician, also known as the In-Home Advisor, is pivotal. This position operates independently in a traveling field capacity, primarily responsible for conducting accurate and professional in-home measurements to support product installation and project completion. The Measure Technician serves as a direct liaison between the company and its customers, facilitating positive experiences through precise measurements, effective communication, and quality service. This role involves traveling within a predefined geographical area to attend scheduled appointments, interact with customers, and provide expert advice related to home improvement projects.

The Measure Technician's duties extend beyond mere measurement. This role requires building and maintaining strong customer relationships, understanding customer needs through open-ended questioning, and providing detailed information about product features, benefits, and installation processes. The goal is to provide customers with comprehensive support that not only meets but exceeds their expectations, fostering trust and encouraging repeat business. The Measure Technician supports sales efforts by identifying opportunities to engage customers with additional services and products, all while adhering to company standards and policies.

Working closely with the Assistant Market Manager and other team members, the Measure Technician plays a critical role in achieving various service goals, including customer satisfaction, measurement accuracy, and sales productivity. The position also involves the use of company-issued devices to document and communicate appointment details, measurements, and quotes efficiently. Physical demands of the role include standing or walking for extended periods and handling materials or equipment of moderate weight. The working environment is primarily indoor and comfortable but may present occasional mild discomfort.

This position requires candidates to be at least 18 years old, legally permitted to work in the United States, and have reliable transportation to travel between customer locations. While prior experience related to measurement or customer service is beneficial, The Home Depot values traits such as being action-oriented, collaborative, and customer-focused. The role offers an opportunity to engage deeply with customers, support their home improvement projects, and grow within a reputable and dynamic organization. Joining The Home Depot as a Measure Technician means becoming part of a team dedicated to excellence, innovation, and superior customer service within the home improvement industry.
