Job Description
The Division of Senior Services is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors by providing essential services that support their health, independence, and well-being. Among its vital programs is the Meals-on-Wheels (MOW) initiative, which delivers nutritious meals to homebound seniors, ensuring they receive proper nutrition and maintaining a connection to the community. This program plays a crucial role in preventing malnutrition, reducing social isolation, and supporting seniors to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible. The Division's commitment to this cause reflects a broader mission to empower older adults through compassionate, efficient, and sustainable services tailored to their unique needs.
The Meals on Wheels Supervisor position is a key leadership role within the Division of Senior Services. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the MOW program, ensuring that the delivery of meals is executed consistently, safely, and in alignment with all regulatory and organizational standards. As a supervisor, the individual will administer program updates, coordinate staff and volunteer schedules, and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders involved in the program. This position requires a blend of managerial expertise, attention to detail, and a passion for serving the senior population.
Furthermore, the Meals on Wheels Supervisor will act as a liaison between various departments and external partners to optimize service delivery and program growth. The position also demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement, including monitoring program outcomes and implementing innovative strategies to enhance efficiency and participant satisfaction. This role is classified under the Non-Union group and offers hourly compensation within the range of $23.41 to $33.94, reflecting the value and responsibility associated with this leadership position.
A successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, coupled with empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by seniors. The Supervisor will foster a supportive and productive environment for staff and volunteers, encouraging teamwork and dedication to the program's mission. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual passionate about community service and eager to make a tangible difference in the lives of older adults.
