Job Description

Conagra Brands is a leading company in the food manufacturing industry with a rich heritage of creating beloved food products. With a team of over 18,000 employees spread across more than 40 locations, Conagra Brands is known for its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and fostering an inclusive, energized culture. The company boasts iconic brands such as Birds Eye, Slim Jim, and Reddi-Wip, which have become household names. Beyond its focus on producing high-quality food items, Conagra Brands prioritizes its community, environment, and employee well-being, making it a dynamic and supportive workplace for its staff.

This position is located at Conagra Brands' facility in Hagerstown, Maryland, where the selected candidate will work onsite in a full-time capacity with a shift schedule from 4:30 AM to 2:30 PM and earn an hourly rate of $23.56. Reporting directly to the Production Team Leader, the role is integral in supporting the safe and efficient production processes by assembling and operating high-speed equipment. The job responsibilities include working with various machines such as Kitters, Mixers, Freezers, and Baggers. The individual will assist operators in managing machine operations, including clearing jams, stacking products, climbing for assessments, loading materials, and troubleshooting equipment issues. Additionally, accurate production and quality data entry using computerized systems like CDC and adherence to Quality Assurance standards and computerized weight control requirements (WinSPC) are critical components of this role.

This role demands a hands-on approach to minor mechanical adjustments and repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance. The employee will also be tasked with staging changeover parts and managing these parts post-production to maintain seamless transitions in production lines. The position is suited for candidates comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, specifically with high-speed machinery. Attention to detail is paramount, especially concerning documentation, code checks, and quality compliance. A collaborative spirit is essential as this role works closely with operators and production staff to maintain smooth production flow.

Physical demands of the job include being on your feet for extended periods, walking around the facility, climbing stairs or ladders, kneeling, and performing repetitive tasks with frequent lifting, pushing, or carrying of materials. The work environment includes high noise levels and variable temperatures that are typical in manufacturing settings. The company is dedicated to employee well-being and offers comprehensive benefits that include medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid life, accident, and disability insurance, as well as financial wellness programs, 401(k)/pension plans, career development opportunities, paid time off, and employee resource groups.

Conagra Brands is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion and welcomes applicants regardless of personal characteristics protected by law, making it an excellent company for those seeking a meaningful and sustainable career in food production.
