This opportunity is for the role of Material Planner at the Toledo facility, a position crucial to ensuring the seamless flow of materials and containers required for uninterrupted production. The Material Planner directly supports manufacturing operations by managing inventory accuracy, coordinating supplier and customer communications, optimizing logistics, and contributing to the effective launch of new models and production changeovers. This role demands precision in handling inventory, preventing material shortages, and limiting excess inventory that could incur unnecessary costs. The Material Planner also focuses on improving material flow efficiency and providing critical analyses and reports to support operational decision-making.

The position entails managing various production parts, ensuring parts and containers are always available, supervising the accuracy of material master lists, and handling system tools such as SAP and EDI order monitoring. The Material Planner will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to maintain strong communications, oversee stock transfer management, and handle any discrepancies in inventory or deliveries. This role involves analytical responsibilities, such as conducting inventory turnover reports, root cause analyses, and cycle count variance investigations.

Furthermore, the Material Planner must be adept at managing special projects or assignments delegated by the materials manager. The role also requires proficient computer skills, especially with MS Office and familiarity with SAP and Paylocity. Candidates will have at least two years of relevant experience within a manufacturing automotive environment, with a preference for those holding a two-year associate degree or higher. Physical demands include the ability to sit for prolonged periods working on a computer and the capacity to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds. The expected workweek is 40 hours, typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, performed in a standard office environment.
