Catering to a wide range of clients such as federal, state, city/local agencies, private owners, architects, engineers, and contractors, M&J Engineering has built a solid reputation for delivering high-quality and innovative solutions across multiple infrastructure sectors.
M&J Engineering's core expertise spans construction management and inspection, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), mechanical and electrical engineering, wastewater and water supply systems, tunnel, airport, port, and marine/coastal projects, as well as environmental engineering and design-build services. Driven by a strong commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action principles, M&J strives to create an inclusive workforce that reflects diversity in all its forms. The company promotes a discrimination-free workplace and actively recruits candidates with the potential to grow and contribute positively to its mission.
M&J Engineering is currently seeking a dedicated Materials Inspector to join its team and contribute to key projects with the District Department of Transportation (DDOT). This role is pivotal in ensuring that all construction materials used on-site meet the rigorous specifications and quality standards set forth by project guidelines. The Materials Inspector will be responsible for conducting precise field sampling and testing of various construction materials including soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete. This hands-on role involves not only performing tests such as density and compaction assessments but also maintaining detailed documentation of testing results to support project records and compliance.
The successful candidate will work closely with the project inspection teams to coordinate testing activities and ensure materials are consistent with contract requirements. They will also be entrusted with the maintenance and calibration of critical testing equipment, including nuclear density gauges, guaranteeing accurate and reliable measurements at all times. This position is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled individual who is passionate about material quality control, with a focus on transportation infrastructure projects. The Materials Inspector will play an integral role in safeguarding construction standards and contributing to the overall success of projects managed by M&J Engineering and DDOT.
M&J Engineering fosters a collaborative and professional working environment where safety, quality control, and continuous improvement are highly valued. Employees are encouraged to develop their skills and grow within the company, supported by a leadership team committed to mentoring and career advancement opportunities.
