The role offered is a senior leadership position within Terracon's department that manages materials services, a critical sector responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of materials used in infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, airports, and stadiums. As a department leader, the individual is tasked with supervising or monitoring all projects in progress, ensuring that work aligns with client requirements and adheres to company policies, procedures, and standards. Key responsibilities include overseeing proposal preparation and cost estimates to ensure proper scoping of services, resource availability, and profitability. A crucial aspect of the role is managing the daily operations of the department, which involves staff training, development, performance reviews, safety oversight, quality assurance, and timely delivery of services.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline including engineering, environmental science, or geology and 5 years’ practice experience
- or minimum of 9 years' related experience in lieu of degree
- Master’s degree or PhD preferred
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required
Job Qualifications
- Certification or licensure in field of expertise
- Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status preferred
Job Duties
- Supervise or monitor all projects in progress in the department to ensure work is executed on time and in accordance with client requirements and company policies
- Supervise preparation of proposals and cost estimates to clients to ensure proper scoping, availability of manpower, and pricing to achieve profitability
- Supervise daily operations including staff training, development, and performance review
- Oversee utilization of equipment and facilities, safety oversight, quality of services, timely delivery, and adherence to policies
- Plan and participate in business development activities to identify, develop, win, and execute project opportunities and build client relationships
- Develop and manage employee staffing plans, recruitment, selection, and on-boarding
- Execute annual business plan and manage key metrics such as revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing, collections, and project profitability
- Develop awareness of project-related risks and implement company risk policies
- Lead safety efforts and ensure team adherence to safety rules and guidelines
- Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects
- Provide consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery
- Perform other duties as assigned
