Mate (Assistant Store Manager)

We are currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic leaders to join our team as Assistant Store Managers, also known as Mates. As a Mate, you will play an integral role in ensuring the store runs smoothly and that both customers and Crew members have an exceptional experience daily. You will lead and develop the Crew through role modeling, coaching, and providing direction and support. Leadership at Trader Joe's is about fostering a positive store atmosphere and inspiring your team to deliver the company's renowned WOW customer service experience. Your responsibilities will be diverse and hands-on, ranging from operating cash registers and bagging groceries with care to stocking shelves, receiving deliveries, and maintaining an inviting store environment.

This role is ideal for individuals with at least three years of recent experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality settings, and at least two years of management or supervisory experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates should have a proven track record of developing individuals and teams with integrity and empowerment, ensuring that the workplace culture supports growth and teamwork.
