Job Description

LifeBridge Health is a dynamic, purpose-driven health system committed to improving the health of individuals in communities across the mid-Atlantic region and beyond. Anchored by a pioneering mission to enhance healthcare access and elevate patient experiences, LifeBridge engages in delivering compassionate, community-centered care through its diverse network of hospitals and care centers. With over 14,000 employees and more than 130 care locations, the organization handles approximately two million patient encounters annually. It includes five leading medical centers in Baltimore: Sinai Hospital, Grace Medical Center, Northwest Hospital, Carroll Hospital, and Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital. LifeBridge Health fosters a culture of innovation, strategic growth, and inclusive care that embraces diversity and equality, ensuring no patient is excluded based on race, gender identity, disability, or any other factor.

The Mashgiach-PRN role at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, offers an exciting opportunity for individuals experienced in kosher dietary laws to support religious food services within a hospital setting. This PRN position primarily covers weekends with varying shifts, providing flexibility. Paying $17.00 per hour, the role involves a wide range of responsibilities to ensure strict adherence to Jewish dietary laws in meal preparation, storage, and serving. The Mashgiach acts as a crucial liaison ensuring that all kosher meals served to patients, staff, and visitors meet the highest standards of religious compliance and quality.

This position requires an individual who is familiar with kosher food handling procedures, including overseeing receipt and storage of kosher food and supplies, verifying kosher certification marks on utensils and equipment, and facilitating ritual purification processes. The Mashgiach is also responsible for the careful preparation of dining areas, including stocking supplies and serving meals in compliance with religious observances. Additional duties include the transfer of food trucks to and from kosher kitchens and dining rooms, providing special holiday items like challah and grape juice to patients upon request, and directly supporting religious services through food-related logistics. Working within Sinai Hospital's supportive and mission-driven environment, this role offers a unique blend of culinary skill, religious knowledge, and community service. Team members benefit from LifeBridge Health's comprehensive benefits, professional development opportunities, and a collaborative workplace culture.
