Job Description

Marriott CityPlace at Springwoods Village is a brand-new hotel ideally situated on the east end of CityPlace Park within Houston's flourishing Springwoods Village district. This hotel offers stylish and amenity-rich accommodations in a neighborhood designed for walkability and connectivity. The property features modern design elements inspired by the area's picturesque meandering paths, forest trails, and lakes, providing guests with a seamless transition from work to play. With 337 beautifully appointed rooms across 10 stories, Marriott CityPlace combines comfort with modern technology including flexible workspaces, high-speed WiFi, and 50-inch HDTVs. Guests have exclusive access to the M Club Lounge, offering complimentary breakfast, snacks, social spaces, and evening cocktails, enhancing the overall guest experience. In addition, the hotel's Switchouse Restaurant & Bar provides a welcoming environment for dining and relaxation. The property also includes 33,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space with a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, and multiple boardrooms for business or social gatherings. The hotel's prime location is easily accessible, situated between I-45 and Spring Village Parkway, close to Holzwarth Road and Mossy Oaks. We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Steward to join our team at Marriott CityPlace at Springwoods Village. As a Kitchen Steward, you will be the backbone of our kitchen operations, ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all kitchen utensils, dishes, and equipment. Your role is crucial in maintaining high standards of hygiene and efficiency in the kitchen to support our culinary team and provide guests with a safe and enjoyable dining experience.

The ideal candidate embraces teamwork and reliability, consistently demonstrating a positive attitude and flexibility to meet daily challenges within a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include scrubbing pots and pans, cleaning dishes and utensils, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and meticulously organizing all kitchen items to prevent breakage and maintain order. Your commitment to sanitation ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, helping to uphold the hotel’s reputation for excellence.

Beyond cleanliness, the Kitchen Steward plays an essential role in supporting kitchen staff by ensuring that food storage and rotation are handled correctly, thereby reducing waste and ensuring freshness. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team, along with effective communication skills, will contribute to smooth kitchen operations. Job Duties

  • Clean dishes, pots, and utensils thoroughly
  • sweep and mop kitchen floors regularly
  • take out trash and maintain cleanliness of disposal areas
  • organize and store china, glass, and silverware with care
  • assist with food storage and rotation to ensure freshness
  • support kitchen staff with various cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • maintain sanitation standards according to health regulations
