Marriott CityPlace at Springwoods Village is a newly established, upscale hotel located in the vibrant Springwoods Village district in Houston, Texas. This modern hotel embodies stylish design inspired by the meandering paths, forest trails, and lakes native to the area, offering guests an inviting and tranquil environment. With 337 rooms spread across 10 stories, the hotel provides comfortable accommodations featuring contemporary lounge furniture, flexible workspaces equipped with high-speed WiFi, and large 50-inch HDTVs for entertainment. The property also boasts a range of amenities including the M Club Lounge, which offers complimentary breakfast and snacks, a social space to mingle with friends, evening cocktail service, and the in-house Switchouse Restaurant & Bar. Joining Marriott CityPlace as a Cook II means becoming part of a dynamic culinary team dedicated to providing exceptional dining experiences across multiple outlets including the main restaurant, café, room service, employee cafeteria, and banquets. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food Handlers Certification required
  • Minimum 5 years of cooking experience preferably in a hotel or large food service environment
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Must be able to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing kitchen dynamics

Job Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience or a culinary graduate with at least 1 year of experience in a hotel or related field
  • Food Handlers Certification required
  • Able to work effectively under pressure maintaining composure while quickly evaluating situations and determining the best course of action
  • A strong communicator who listens actively to understand concerns raised by coworkers and guests and effectively conveys ideas and solutions
