Job Description

Marriott Austin North is a premier hotel located just north of downtown Austin, Texas, known for its dedication to delivering exceptional guest service and creating memorable experiences. As part of the Marriott brand, the hotel embodies personalized service, thoughtful amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere for both guests and employees. The property benefits from its strategic location near major highways such as I-35 and US 183, which provide convenient access and public transportation options via CapMetro, enhancing the overall accessibility for travelers and staff alike. The team at Marriott Austin North thrives on fostering a positive and dynamic workplace where every member can contribute to the hotel's success and growth. Being part of Aimbridge Hospitality, the hotel emphasizes nurturing professional development, encouraging innovation, and supporting career advancement opportunities for employees who desire growth within the hospitality industry.

The role of Catering & Convention Services Manager at Marriott Austin North offers a critical leadership opportunity to drive the success of catering and convention services for the hotel. This position is designed for a dynamic individual who excels in blending creativity, client services, and business acumen to deliver outstanding event experiences. As the manager for assigned properties, you will be responsible for managing food and beverage sales goals, servicing clients and groups, and ensuring that every event runs smoothly and exceeds expectations. You will work closely with the Director of Sales or Director of Catering/Convention Services, collaborating effectively to help the hotel meet and surpass revenue targets, guest satisfaction scores, and sales objectives. This role requires a strong sales and relationship-building mindset since you will be engaging with clients personally—leading tours, negotiating contracts, and maintaining lasting connections that foster repeat business.

You play a vital part in positioning the hotel ahead of competitors by staying informed about industry trends, spotting new business opportunities, and actively participating in the local community to build the hotel’s reputation. The role demands exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple events, handle last-minute changes seamlessly, and deliver flawless services from banquet orders to event execution. As an overtime eligible manager (OEM), the position involves working beyond regular hours as necessary, with overtime compensation provided accordingly. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in an energetic environment, values continuous learning, and takes pride in contributing to a renowned hospitality brand that values its employees and guests equally.
