The Market Place Retail Team Member role is a vital position within Northern Quest Resort & Casino’s retail operations. This role focuses on assisting with merchandise sales and serving high-quality beverages to guests within the Market Place venue. The position requires adherence to the resort’s strict policies and procedures while ensuring the guest experience is seamless and enjoyable. As a Market Place Retail Team Member, you will be expected to maintain a clean and well-organized store or cafe environment, efficiently handle transactions, and provide friendly, knowledgeable service to every guest. The Market Place Retail Team Member not only performs routine retail and beverage preparation duties but also plays an active role in inventory management, event promotions, and guest relations to enhance the overall guest experience. Moreover, the position supports the resort’s commitment to safety and sanitation guidelines, aligning with local and state regulatory requirements.
This job emphasizes creating enthusiastic guest satisfaction by preparing quality beverages to established standards and maintaining an inviting venue. Responsibility extends to organizational tasks such as handling inventory, restocking returned merchandise, and ensuring product presentations meet resort standards. Additionally, team members are instrumental in handling guest concerns empathetically and working collaboratively within the resort’s retail leadership structure to resolve any issues efficiently. The role demands physical stamina for lifting moderately heavy items, moving around the store or cafe, and executing repetitive movements seamlessly. A Market Place Retail Team Member serves as a frontline ambassador of the resort’s brand and hospitality ethos, fostering an environment where guests feel welcome and valued. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or general education degree (ged)
- three months' related experience and/or training helpful or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to obtain and maintain a Kalispel Tribal Work Permit
- washington state food handlers cert - must obtain within 14 days of start date
- hepatitis a vaccination
- mandatory alcohol server training (mast) certification - must obtain within first 60 days of start date
- available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or general education degree (ged)
- three months' related experience and/or training are helpful or equivalent combination of education and experience
- experience working as a barista preferred
- excellent guest relations and guest service skills
- skill in identifying and resolving problems under pressure conditions
- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- ability to learn and retain information quickly
- good verbal communication
- ability to work well in a team environment
- basic to intermediate computer literacy a plus
- ability to follow direction in a fast-paced environment
- ability to manage time effectively
- a propensity to provide superior guest service in accordance with Kalispel Hospitality
- maintain smile and pleasant demeanor
Job Duties
- develops enthusiastically satisfied guests all of the time
- provides quality beverages consistently for all guests
- prepares beverages to standards
- follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products and areas
- correctly perform all necessary paperwork and bookwork at shifts end
- available and willing to work any changes in hours deemed necessary for business levels
- straighten and organize inventory
- perform cleaning, set-up and breakdown duties as directed by management and position requirements during opening, shift change and closing
- ensure return merchandise is restocked to the correct product location on the sales/cafe floor
- all damaged and defective merchandise is properly labeled and placed in appropriate area at the end of each shift
- execute efficient and effective handling of all merchandise from shipment processing, floor sets, markdown optimization and replenishment systems while maintaining backroom standards
- proactively resolve guest concerns in a manner consistent with Kalispel Hospitality, and with guest satisfaction in mind
- partner with the Resort Retail leadership team on elevated guest issues
- ensure inventory control/protection of organizational assets
- promote sales and upgrading of items
- assists with training of new team members
- aware of all promotions and events in Casino
- ability to maintain organization of all Resort Retail spaces
- responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular good attendance record
- may be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review Hearings
