This full-time position of Marketplace Barista at The Phoenician offers candidates an opportunity to join a dynamic and customer-focused food and beverage team, operating within a vibrant resort environment. The role is non-management and is centered around delivering quality beverage service while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the workspace. The Marketplace Barista is responsible for a variety of opening and closing tasks, including preparation of supplies and utensils, cleaning equipment and work areas, and managing inventory such as ice, glassware, and paper supplies. Efficiency in taking and processing orders is essential, utilizing the MICROS point-of-sale system to record transactions and handle cash. The barista will also be involved in preparing and serving beverages such as coffee, wine, and beer, ensuring guests receive their orders promptly and according to company standards. Maintaining operational safety by adhering to company security policies and supporting team members is a critical aspect of this role. Familiarity with operating coffee machines and other related equipment is necessary to ensure smooth daily operations. This position requires employees to stand or move for extended periods, engage physically with light lifting and transporting tasks, and interact professionally with guests and colleagues. The ideal candidate will have at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent, with previous experience in food service environments considered an asset but not mandatory. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • no prior supervisory experience required
  • no certification or license required
  • able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 25 pounds and standing for extended periods
  • ability to communicate clearly in English or Spanish
  • availability for full-time schedule

Job Duties

  • Complete opening and closing tasks including supply and utensil preparation
  • clean equipment and work areas
  • maintain clean and organized counters and tables
  • prepare and restock beverage preparation areas
  • replenish ice, glasses, and paper supplies
  • transport supplies to beverage preparation area
  • wash dirty glasses
  • clear dirty items from counters and tables to designated areas
  • enter orders in POS system and collect payment
  • note orders and dispense wine/beer and prepare beverages
  • serve guests promptly and according to company standards
  • operate coffee machines and other equipment on scheduled times
  • assist with counter and table maintenance
  • wash dishes, utensils, work areas, tables, and equipment throughout the day
  • count cash register and complete cashier reports
  • secure cash register
  • ensure beer, wine, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas are stocked and secure
  • comply with all company safety policies
  • report maintenance or safety issues
