Job Description

Bunkhouse Group is a vibrant and dynamic hospitality company managing several unique and culturally rich properties, including Hotel Magdalena, Hotel Saint Cecilia, and Equipment Room. With a storied past, Bunkhouse honors its heritage, particularly that of its properties rooted in mid-century American culture and music. For example, Hotel Magdalena and Hotel Saint Cecilia stand on grounds that were once home to the Terrace Motor Hotel, a notable 1950s and 1960s venue featuring over 300 rooms, a poolside restaurant, and a lounge that once hosted live musical acts. This history permeates the atmosphere and programming of these properties today, as Bunkhouse promotes community-centered events like clandestine concerts and culinary experiences that celebrate both local culture and musical lineage. Equipment Room, a private basement venue located beneath Hotel Magdalena, offers a distinctive blend of Japanese Jazz Kissa culture and Texas hospitality creating a fresh yet familiar experience for patrons. Bunkhouse prides itself on creating an engaging and authentic environment, one that invites guests and staff alike to immerse themselves in the spirit of these historically and culturally significant spaces.

Bunkhouse is currently seeking a Marketing & Community Manager to spearhead its marketing and community engagement efforts for Hotel Magdalena, Summer on Music Lane, and Equipment Room. This role is integral to maintaining and enhancing Bunkhouse's brand presence, ensuring that all outward-facing marketing aligns with corporate brand standards, resonates with audiences, and reflects the company’s core values. The Marketing & Community Manager works diligently to uphold and promote Bunkhouse's culture, mission, and reputation through professional interactions with internal teams, guests, vendors, and partners. This role demands flexibility and responsiveness to the evolving needs of the company, often requiring the manager to undertake a diverse range of marketing and operational functions beyond the traditional scope of marketing roles. Responsibilities include leading monthly marketing meetings to coordinate collateral, event promotion, digital marketing, public relations, and content creation across the properties. They oversee social media and content calendars for multiple accounts, photograph and coordinate photo shoots, collaborate with the Bunkhouse art team on collateral projects, and manage logistics for external media requests. Additionally, this position handles website updates, monthly email marketing campaigns, public relations efforts including press stays and room drops, and supports the sales team with necessary marketing collateral.

The role places a strong emphasis on creativity and initiative, encouraging the manager to develop innovative event ideas, partnerships, and programming that foster community engagement and support operational needs during high-demand periods. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a company that values its historical roots while pushing forward with modern marketing strategies and community-building efforts. Employee benefits are thoughtfully designed to enhance work-life balance and overall wellbeing, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401K plan with company match, free and discounted room nights, generous paid time off, complimentary wellness subscriptions, and retail discounts. Bunkhouse fosters an inclusive and supportive workplace where team members are encouraged to grow professionally, remain adaptable, and work collaboratively to deliver exceptional experiences to both guests and colleagues alike. This full-time role is perfect for a motivated marketing professional with hospitality experience who thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about community and culture.
