The Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, operated by Legends Global, is the top-ranked entertainment venue in the state. It features a full calendar of concerts, comedy shows, family entertainment, sporting events, banquets, conventions, trade shows, and meetings. The venue is the largest between Omaha and Fargo as well as between Minneapolis and Denver, supported by an attached Convention Center and Arena.

The role of Marketing Manager is crucial for the ongoing success of the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager and classified as an exempt position, this role is responsible for overseeing the marketing campaigns for the facility and its events. The Marketing Manager handles everything from social media management and promotional activities to advertising placements. They collaborate with event promoters to maximize ticket sales and audience engagement. This role also represents the facility as an in-house agency, developing marketing materials and strategies, maintaining relationships with media, civic, and corporate partners, and staying current with national and local industry trends. The position supervises and directs the marketing team in alignment with company policies and laws, including hiring, training, appraisal, and disciplinary actions. The manager maintains the facility's website, social media channels, and email newsletters, ensuring a positive and professional image is always projected.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of related marketing experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe products, and Canva
  • Experience with social media platforms and content creation
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Reliable attendance and professional work ethic

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field preferred
  • 2 years of related marketing experience required
  • Working knowledge of the principles of facility management and/or special events preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, Canva, basic video editing for graphic editing and social content creation
  • Proficiency in social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and LinkedIn with experience in content creation
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to handle multiple tasks at a time
  • Strong creative background
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills written and verbal
  • Ability to work event hours including days, nights, weekends, and some holidays
  • Regular, reliable attendance is essential

Job Duties

  • Creates and supervises marketing plans for events when required to include all available services media placement, social media, promotional development in coordination with event promoters to maximize ticket sales and attendance
  • Develops marketing materials and procedures to function effectively as an in-house agency
  • Maintains relationships with media representatives, civic and industry organizations, and corporate marketing contacts
  • Oversees the coordination of promotions and special events with event promoters and facility personnel
  • Remains current on national trends in the industry and local market changes to best serve the facility and events
  • Maintains high standards, positive attitude, and professional appearance
  • Maintains a facility website, social media channels, and email subscriber newsletter
