Job Description
Berns Garden Center and Landscaping, established in 1956, has been a cornerstone of exceptional horticulture and landscaping services in Southwest Ohio. With locations in Middletown and Beavercreek, the company has built a strong reputation for cultivating beautiful spaces and fostering meaningful connections with customers, employees, and the larger community. As a well-established business, Berns Garden Center and Landscaping pride themselves on blending tradition with innovation to meet the evolving needs of their clients throughout the year. The company focuses on quality products, expert landscaping design, and exemplary customer service, positioning themselves as leaders in the local horticulture industry. Their commitment to community and sustainability is reflected in the quality of their plants and landscaping solutions, aiming to enhance the natural environment and the lives of their customers.
The role of Marketing Manager at Berns Garden Center and Landscaping is pivotal in driving the company's brand presence and business growth. This leadership role entails developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that align with business objectives, intending to increase brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales. The successful marketing manager will oversee all aspects of marketing communication, campaign management, and team leadership while collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners. Primary responsibilities include creating strategic marketing plans, managing digital and traditional marketing campaigns through channels like social media, email marketing, the company website, and physical events, and ensuring consistent messaging across all divisions. This manager also handles vendor relationships for services such as SEO, paid media, and graphic design while managing budgets and marketing resource allocation.
Additionally, the Marketing Manager will mentor and lead the marketing team, evaluating performance and fostering a culture of growth and accountability. A strong emphasis is placed on data analytics, requiring the ability to track marketing KPIs, analyze customer behavior, and report insights to company leadership effectively. The role demands creative thinking and a strategic mindset to facilitate innovative campaigns that resonate with their target audiences. Operating primarily in an office environment with occasional outdoor work in garden centers or client sites involves some physical activity and exposure to natural elements, reflecting the dynamic nature of the industry.
This position requires a seasoned marketing professional with over five years of experience in marketing, including at least two years in management roles. The candidate should have proven experience in product marketing, adeptness with marketing systems and digital tools such as Shopify and Klaviyo, and the capacity to manage complex campaigns and budgets. Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and leadership skills are essential, as well as a team-oriented approach with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields, experience in horticulture-related industries, and familiarity with design tools like Adobe Suite and Canva. Above all, an enthusiasm for plants and gardening aligns perfectly with the company’s culture and mission.
Joining Berns Garden Center and Landscaping means becoming part of a team dedicated to community, creativity, and integrity. Employees benefit from a supportive, family-like environment that values every voice and provides opportunities for career growth and personal development. Perks include employee discounts on plants and products, competitive benefits, and the rewarding experience of contributing to a company that makes a positive impact locally.
