The Marketing Intern role at PetVet Care Centers' Hagyard Equine Medical Institute is an exciting opportunity for those interested in gaining hands-on experience in marketing within the veterinary and equine health industry. This internship involves supporting a variety of marketing functions across the organization, with the prospect of transitioning into a full-time role based on performance and organizational needs. The position is designed to provide broad exposure to event management, sponsorships and partnerships, digital and print media, and administrative duties within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role requires initiative, creativity, and a passion for both marketing and animal care, particularly equine. As a Marketing Intern, you will assist in planning and executing company events, including sponsorship activations, employee appreciation activities, conferences, symposiums, and community outreach programs. You'll help manage on-site event duties such as booth setup, content creation, and prize distribution. You will also support the development of promotional materials, event collateral, and booth designs using tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite. The internship also involves digital marketing tasks, including content library updates, social media management across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, and copywriting. Additionally, administrative responsibilities include answering inquiries, providing tours of the Hagyard campus, and supporting marketing meetings. This role is well-suited for candidates with strong organizational skills who can multitask effectively and contribute both independently and collaboratively within a team. The schedule entails working 30-40 hours per week, primarily during weekdays from 8 AM to 4 PM, with occasional requirements for evening or weekend event support. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business, event management, graphic design, or a related field preferred
- Prior personal or professional equine experience required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Comfortable with event planning and on-site event support
- Experience with social media platforms preferred
- Familiarity with design and content creation tools preferred
- Professionalism and confidentiality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, Event Management, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred
- Prior personal or professional equine experience required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact professionally with employees, clients, vendors, sponsors, and community partners
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Comfortable assisting with event planning, coordination, and on-site event support including occasional evening or weekend events
- Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok preferred
- Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software, or other design and content creation tools preferred
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality while representing the organization at events and public functions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Job Duties
- Provide direct support for company events, including sponsorship activations, employee appreciation, conferences, symposiums, community outreach, and training
- Provide on-site event coverage including booth setup, teardown, content acquisition, content creation, prize distribution
- Assist in creation of promotional materials and collateral for events and internal use
- Assist in design booth layout and materials including furniture, backdrops, flyers, videos, giveaway items, surveys, baskets
- Support internal events including planning, organization, and execution
- Assist with external sponsor and partner communications
- Support organizing veterinary service coverage for shows including contracts, invoices, deliverables, and communications
- Help facilitate sponsorship opportunities for internal employee events and student events
- Update content library including content acquisition and creation for social media, advertisements, commercials
- Support social media management including content calendars, writing copy, and monitoring engagement
- Proactively answer questions or requests, directing to appropriate individuals if necessary
- Assist with and provide tours of the Hagyard campus
- Attend marketing meetings and assist with follow up tasks or action items
