Job Description
Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary is a nonprofit animal rescue organization committed to a powerful mission: every celebration saves a life next door. Based in Wichita, Kansas, the organization operates Pickle 4 Paws, a new community clubhouse designed to bring people together for birthday parties, memberships, family events, and corporate gatherings. Uniquely, 100% of all profits from Pickle 4 Paws are reinvested directly into animal rescue efforts, including funding food, medical care, housing, transport, and providing second chances to animals awaiting adoption.
Pickle 4 Paws is more than just a venue; it is a ground-floor startup venture seeking to build a brand and community tradition from the ground up. This is an exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven organization in a role that blends marketing, entrepreneurship, fundraising, and community engagement. As a Marketing Intern, you will have the rare chance to help create and grow this brand-new initiative in Wichita, developing new partnerships, launching recurring events, building a recognizable brand, and cultivating long-lasting community traditions.
This internship is designed for an energetic, outgoing individual who thrives on connecting with others and shaping new experiences rather than simply maintaining existing programs. Reporting to the Marketing & Events Coordinator, the Marketing Intern will play a critical role in securing revenue through memberships, sponsorships, parties, and corporate event bookings. This unpaid internship offers college credit as well as commission opportunities tied directly to corporate sponsorship deals the intern brings in.
The role demands a proactive, entrepreneurial spirit who is comfortable meeting local business owners, community leaders, and families to promote Pickle 4 Paws' mission and offerings. You will help generate crucial revenue that supports animal rescue and will be rewarded with commission on sponsorships and events you secure, with no earning ceiling. This is the chance to gain hands-on experience in community outreach, fundraising, content creation, and event support while making a measurable impact on animal welfare in the Wichita area.
Beyond traditional marketing duties, you will be a community connector and junior entrepreneur — helping build a business model that proves sustainable and impactful. The position offers flexible hours to start, with growth potential as the venture expands. Interns will work both in the community and on-site, engaging in partnerships with schools, businesses, and other local organizations to maximize engagement and sponsorship. Creativity, relationship-building skills, and a passion for the mission are essential.
At Always & Furever, marketing is not about selling products but about creating experiences so meaningful that people are eager to share them. Every event, partnership, and sponsorship contributes to the life-saving mission. If you are excited by the prospect of building something from nothing and making real change, this internship offers a solid foundation for a career in marketing, nonprofit development, or business leadership within a mission-driven context.
