We are currently seeking an experienced Events Planning Professional to join our dynamic Growth team. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role is pivotal in leading the firm's event management strategy and execution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing a broad spectrum of events that drive relationship-building and business development initiatives. Cohen & Co’s events portfolio is diverse, including national and local programs of varying sizes and duration. These events encompass webinars, firm-hosted in-person conferences, seminars, roundtables, and various third-party sponsorship engagements.

The Events Planning Professional will be a self-starter with exceptional organizational skills, able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and collaborative environment. This role involves the development, promotion, production, and analysis of market-facing events such as branded and co-branded programs, continuing professional education (CPE) sessions, thought leadership programs, client entertainment, networking events, and appreciation functions. Additionally, the individual will serve as the lead for the firm’s signature annual Investment Industry CPE event, which draws over 400 clients, prospects, and internal attendees.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with internal Steering Committees and firm leadership to define event goals and concepts, managing budgets, sourcing venues, negotiating contracts, handling logistics, and ensuring flawless event execution. The role demands fostering strong collaborative relationships across various firm levels and with external stakeholders. The professional will analyze event operations to recommend improvements, utilizing technology tools such as webinar platforms, CRM systems, marketing automation software, and event marketing technologies to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

Post-event duties include conducting thorough analysis and reporting on event outcomes, budget adherence, and participant feedback to facilitate continuous improvement. The Events Planning Professional will work closely with Industry Marketing Leads and other marketing team members to align event content, social media strategies, email marketing campaigns, list management, and ROI or lead tracking efforts.

This role requires up to 10 years of progressive event and meeting planning experience, preferably within a professional services context. A strong proficiency in technology platforms such as Salesforce, Pardot, and Cvent, as well as Microsoft Office applications, is essential. The candidate should demonstrate a proactive client service mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. The position may require travel of up to 30% within the United States and occasional work during evenings or weekends to support event activities. Job Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 30% within the US

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • CMP Certification preferred
  • 10 years of progressive experience in events and meeting planning
  • Experience in a professional services firm is a plus
  • Proficiency with technology platforms including webinar, CRM, marketing automation and event marketing tools
  • Specific experience with Salesforce, Pardot and Cvent is a plus
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel)
  • Strong, proactive client service mindset

  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Job Duties

  • Develop, promote, produce and analyze the effectiveness of market-facing events
  • Provide advanced meeting and event planning expertise from event concept to goal setting
  • Organize activities related to agenda setting, sourcing and securing internal and external speakers, budget management, venue sourcing and contract negotiation, logistics management and event execution
  • Serve as event planning lead for the firm’s signature annual Investment Industry CPE event
  • Foster collaborative relationships with various individuals and teams across the firm and external stakeholders
  • Analyze event operations and suggest improvements including technology and automation
  • Provide post event analysis, budget recaps, internal and attendee feedback
  • Collaborate on event related content, social media, email marketing, list management and ROI/lead tracking
