Job Description

Cohen & Co is a distinguished professional services firm recognized for its dedication to providing top-tier accounting, advisory, and consulting solutions. Renowned for its client-centric approach and commitment to excellence, Cohen & Co fosters an inclusive and growth-oriented culture that embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion. The firm’s ethos centers around its foundational principle of "great people first," ensuring that employees and clients alike benefit from a supportive, innovative, and collaborative work environment. Their comprehensive Total Rewards package reflects this commitment by offering competitive compensation, discretionary merit increases and bonuses, and tailored benefits that extend beyond standard offerings. This includes additional time off to recharge and community involvement, as well as ample talent development resources designed to support employee growth and career advancement.

The Events Planning Professional role at Cohen & Co is a key position reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer within the Growth team. This role is entrusted with leading the firm's event management strategy and execution to support critical relationship-building and business development objectives. Events orchestrated by Cohen & Co span nationally and locally and vary extensively in size and duration. The portfolio includes webinars, firm-hosted in-person conferences, seminars, roundtables, and third-party sponsorships. This dynamic breadth requires a versatile, detail-oriented, and proactive leader capable of navigating complex logistical challenges and delivering flawless event experiences.

As the Events Planning Professional, you will be responsible for developing, promoting, producing, and analyzing the effectiveness of various market-facing events that are integral to the firm’s strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include coordinating branded and co-branded programs, continuing professional education (CPE) sessions, client entertainment, networking and appreciation events, and other thought leadership programs. You will collaborate closely with internal Steering Committees and firm leadership from event conceptualization to execution, overseeing agenda-setting, speaker sourcing, budget management, venue sourcing, contract negotiation, and logistics to ensure seamless delivery.

A critical highlight of this role is serving as the lead planner for the firm’s signature annual Investment Industry CPE event, a multi-day affair involving over 400 clients, prospects, and internal attendees. This position requires building and maintaining collaborative relationships across various firm levels and with external stakeholders. Additionally, you will analyze event operations and recommend improvements, leveraging technology platforms such as webinar tools, CRM systems, marketing automation, and event marketing solutions including Salesforce, Pardot, and Cvent.

Moreover, you will provide post-event analysis, including budget recaps and feedback collection, helping to refine and elevate future event strategies. Collaboration with Industry Marketing Leads and marketing team members to produce event-related content, manage social media and email campaigns, and track ROI and leads is a fundamental component of this role. To thrive in this fast-paced, team-oriented environment, candidates must demonstrate strong project management skills, exceptional attention to detail, a proactive client service mindset, and the flexibility to travel up to 30 percent nationally and occasionally work evenings and weekends as events require.
