The role of Marketing Event and Trade Show Manager at CesiumAstro is critical to achieving the company's business development and brand visibility goals. This senior individual contributor position within the Marketing Communications department is responsible for independently managing the planning, coordination, and execution of CesiumAstro’s external events including tradeshows, conferences, customer engagements, sponsorship activities, and participation in industry associations. The manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, such as Marketing, Business Development, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and Executive Leadership, to ensure seamless event logistics and execution, vendor relationships, and impactful customer-facing engagement.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized marketing professional with advanced expertise in event planning, logistics, and project management, who demonstrates the ability to handle multiple high-priority projects with exceptional attention to detail and quality control. They must be resourceful and capable of operating independently in a fast-paced aerospace and defense environment while serving as a trusted advisor and leader in event execution. Key responsibilities include overseeing detailed project plans, managing operational logistics such as booth setup, vendor coordination, shipping, accommodations, and compliance; driving continuous process improvements to increase efficiency and event impact; measuring event performance analytics; and delivering post-event evaluations to guide future event strategy.
Additionally, the manager will actively contribute to customer engagement and sponsorship management efforts by developing compelling event messaging, presentations, and collateral aligned with company business objectives. They will facilitate high-profile executive meetings, hospitality events, and networking functions, ensuring all public-facing situations uphold CesiumAstro’s brand integrity and professionalism. The role demands strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to submit event participation materials, sponsorship applications, and award nominations, while maintaining awareness of industry trends, customer expectations, and competitor strategies.

Job Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in events, customer engagement, or tradeshow logistics with a BS/BA
- 3-6 years of experience with an MS/MA
- advanced knowledge of tradeshow planning, event logistics, customer engagement practices, and event management best practices
- demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and execution quality
- strong vendor management, contract coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and project management capabilities
- excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and influence outcomes without direct authority
- working knowledge of branding, marketing communications, customer experience, and lead generation principles

- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- ability to travel up to 25% domestically and occasionally internationally as business needs require
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in marketing, communications, or related field
- Master's degree (MS/MA) preferred with 3-6 years of relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge of tradeshow planning, event logistics, and customer engagement best practices
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong vendor management, contract coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and project management skills
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills

Job Duties
- Lead the planning, coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of tradeshow, conference, customer engagement, and event participation activities
- Manage the company’s participation in major industry tradeshows, conferences, and customer-facing events, ensuring successful execution from initial planning through post-event follow-up and evaluation
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, logistics schedules, budgets, execution checklists, and risk mitigation plans to support successful event delivery
- Coordinate all event operational requirements including booth reservations, vendor management, shipping logistics, installation and dismantle schedules, hotel accommodations, badge registrations, meeting space reservations, and event compliance requirements
- Coordinate the delivery, setup, operation, and return of product hardware, demonstration equipment, marketing assets, and supporting materials required for customer engagements and industry events
- Identify opportunities to improve event processes, execution efficiency, attendee engagement, and operational effectiveness, and implement approved improvements
- Track event performance metrics and prepare post-event analyses, recommendations, and lessons learned to support future planning and continuous improvement efforts
- Partner with Marketing Communications, Business Development, Product Management, and Engineering teams to develop event messaging, presentations, collateral, demonstrations, and engagement activities aligned with business objectives
- Support executive meetings, customer dinners, hospitality events, networking opportunities, and strategic relationship-building activities associated with industry events and customer engagements
- Ensure all customer-facing experiences reflect brand standards, messaging, professionalism, and commitment to operational excellence
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prepare and submit conference applications, speaking abstracts, sponsorship materials, award nominations, and event participation documentation
- Maintain awareness of customer expectations, industry trends, competitor activities, and event best practices to support continuous improvement and maximize event effectiveness
- Serve as a primary point of coordination between Marketing, Business Development, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and Executive Leadership teams for event-related planning and execution activities
- Facilitate event planning meetings, project reviews, execution updates, and post-event debrief sessions
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, venues, contractors, industry organizations, and external service providers
- Provide recommendations regarding event logistics, sponsorship opportunities, process improvements, and customer engagement activities
- Anticipate operational challenges and proactively develop solutions and contingency plans
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members on event planning processes and best practices
- Support employee engagement initiatives and internal company events as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of business objectives
