The Marketing Coordinator position for the Alaska Collection is an exciting opportunity to join Pursuit’s dynamic marketing team based in Anchorage, Alaska. This role supports both the Alaska Collection and the larger Pursuit marketing teams, playing a critical role in driving visitation and revenue growth across various lines of business within Alaska. Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, Alaska, the Marketing Coordinator helps execute marketing activities that ensure the achievement of revenue targets.

Key responsibilities include supporting the Manager of Marketing for the Alaska Collection and the broader Pursuit marketing team in executing collateral and signage plans, updating go-to-market strategies, and managing promotional events focused on priority business lines and guest journey touchpoints specifically for Alaska. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with the digital team to generate and collect content for Pursuit's website and digital communications, managing marketing asset storage within a digital asset management system, and assisting in placing local advertising and managing affiliate marketing initiatives.

The Marketing Coordinator also supports social media and content marketing teams by collecting photo and video content and identifying new content opportunities, assists with media and influencer marketing visits including on-site hosting, and coordinates marketing requests from internal and external stakeholders. The role requires cross-functional collaboration aligning priorities with Revenue, Operations, and Senior Leadership teams and serves as an on-the-ground marketing contact for various collaborators. Seasonal accuracy monitoring and updating processes are also key aspects of the duties.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year marketing experience
  • Excellent written communication and creative writing skills
  • University degree or college diploma in marketing, communication, tourism or graphic design considered an asset
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom is preferred
  • Proficient with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok
  • Familiarity with website content management systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word
  • Strong brand representation judgement
  • Photography and videography experience is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one post-hire
  • Ability to travel with overnight stays as needed

Job Duties

  • Support the Manager, Marketing in Alaska Collection and the larger Pursuit marketing team, ensuring each line of business within Alaska achieves their revenue targets
  • Execute in-market collateral and signage plans
  • Update go-to-market strategies and promotional events focusing on priority businesses, new activations and guest journey touchpoints in Alaska
  • Support the digital team in collecting and generating content for the Pursuit website and other digital communications
  • Manage storage of marketing assets including images, electronic files and creative archive library within the digital asset management system
  • Place local advertising and execute on affiliate marketing initiatives
  • Manage small creative projects and support business month-end administrative tasks
  • Support the social media and content marketing teams by collecting photo and video content and identifying new content opportunities
  • Assist with the implementation of media and influencer marketing visits including on-site hosting as required
  • Align priorities with Revenue, Operations and Senior Leadership Teams
  • Serve as on-the-ground marketing contact for collaborators
  • Establish process for seasonal accuracy monitoring and updating
  • Coordinate marketing requests from internal and external stakeholders
  • Support larger marketing team with in-destination projects for Alaska such as property tours, photoshoots and content collection
