Job Description

FloridaCommerce is a dynamic state agency dedicated to strengthening Florida's economy by supporting its talented workforce, local communities, and businesses. Positioned at the heart of Florida's economic development efforts, the agency is committed to fostering resilience and preparedness against economic slowdowns and natural disasters. Operating out of Florida's capital city, Tallahassee, the agency thrives in a fast-paced environment that values critical thinking, innovation, and collaboration. That makes FloridaCommerce an ideal place for professionals who want to make a tangible difference in the community by contributing to the stability and growth of local economies. FloridaCommerce offers comprehensive support programs, including the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI), designed to provide vital resources to small businesses across the state. The agency's mission aligns with its core values of responsiveness, quality, and customer service, making it an engaging workplace where every employee's contributions help drive economic growth and community development.

The role of Marketing Coordinator within the Office of Small Business Innovation is a part-time position based in Tallahassee with a pay rate of $30 per hour. This position plays a pivotal role in supporting outreach and engagement efforts aimed at enhancing visibility and accessibility of small business support programs. Additionally, the Marketing Coordinator will assist with website content updates, maintain consistent branding, track marketing campaigns, and help produce reports on campaign outcomes.

Candidates will need to work closely with community partners, small business owners, and internal stakeholders, including leadership from the Governor's Office, to align communication strategies with program objectives. This is a collaborative role that demands flexibility in adapting messaging for multiple platforms while managing deadlines and promoting a customer service mindset. The ideal candidate brings enthusiasm for supporting small businesses, experience in graphic design beyond basic tools, and a proactive approach to project coordination and public engagement. Working at FloridaCommerce provides opportunities for professional growth, ongoing training, and the chance to contribute to vital economic initiatives in a supportive, skilled, and innovative professional environment. Moreover, employees gain exposure to Florida's picturesque capital city, known for its rich cultural assets, higher education institutions, and proximity to beaches, making it a rewarding place to live and work.
