The Tucson Convention Center, a part of this renowned network, encompassing venues such as Tucson Arena, Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, and Leo Rich Theater, is seeking a skilled and creative Marketing Coordinator. This role is pivotal to the success of the center’s various events and initiatives, responsible for both short-term and long-term marketing, advertising, and creative planning and execution aligned with approved strategies. The Marketing Coordinator will develop detailed marketing plans that incorporate group sales, public relations, media placement, direct mail, promotional development, live entertainment, and nonprofit opportunities when relevant. They will plan, organize, and manage advertising, publicity, promotional activities, and social media programs that enhance the center's brand and visibility.

This position requires close adherence to brand standards to ensure professional representation of the organization and its facilities. The Marketing Coordinator will also undertake graphic design tasks or coordinate with external design partners under the direction of the Director of Sales and Marketing. Maintaining effective relationships with advertisers, event organizers, employees, and the public is essential. Staying abreast of national trends within the live entertainment industry, as well as shifts in the local market, enables the role to continuously innovate and serve the facility's needs effectively.

A key facet of the role includes managing social media channels for the Tucson Convention Center, engaging fans, and promoting events before, during, and after concerts and entertainment activities. Responsibilities include updating event calendars and online event listings, conceptualizing and executing online promotional campaigns aimed at increasing ticket sales, and maintaining the facility’s website. This role requires flexibility to work irregular hours depending on event and initiative programming, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field preferred
  • minimum 1-2 years experience in marketing, public relations, or sales in the entertainment industry or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • extensive knowledge of marketing software and systems
  • extensive knowledge in social media marketing and platforms
  • excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • very detail oriented
  • ability to work under limited supervision
  • ability to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to prioritize multiple projects

Job Duties

  • create marketing plans for events and/or initiatives including group sales, public relations, media placement, direct mail, promotional development, live entertainment, non-profit opportunities
  • plan, organize, and implement advertising, promotions, publicity, and social media programs
  • ensure proper adherence to brand standards to maintain positive and professional representation of the organization and its facilities
  • perform graphic design functions or coordinate with outsourced design partners
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships with advertisers, event organizers, employees, and the public
  • remain current on national industry trends and local market changes
  • serve as the social media voice of the Tucson Convention Center, updating channels before, during, and after events
  • update and distribute event calendars and online event listings
  • conceptualize and execute online promotions to increase ticket sales
  • maintain the facility website
  • work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • perform all other duties as assigned
