Job Description

The role in focus here is the Marketing Coordinator position for the Tucson Convention Center, which includes key performance spaces such as the Tucson Arena, Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, and Leo Rich Theater. The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for both short- and long-term marketing strategies, advertising initiatives, and creative planning/execution that aligns with the organization's approved plans. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with one of the most vibrant event centers in Tucson, providing ample opportunities to impact community engagement through promotion of a diverse array of events.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • 1-2 years experience in marketing public relations or sales in entertainment or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Extensive knowledge of marketing software and systems
  • Extensive knowledge of social media marketing and platforms
  • Excellent communication interpersonal skills and organizational ability
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and interact with all levels of staff including management
  • Ability to work irregular hours including evenings weekends and holidays
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Marketing Journalism Public Relations or related field preferred
  • 1-2 years experience in Marketing Public Relations or Sales in entertainment or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Extensive knowledge of marketing software and systems
  • Extensive knowledge in social media marketing and platforms
  • Excellent communication interpersonal skills and organizational ability
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and interact with all levels of staff including management
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines

Job Duties

  • Create marketing plans for events andor initiatives
  • Plan organize and implement advertising promotions publicity and social media programs
  • Ensure proper adherence to brand standards
  • Perform graphic design functions or liaise with outsourced partners
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with advertisers event organizers employees and public
  • Remain current on national industry trends and local market changes
  • Serve as the social media voice of Tucson Convention Center and update channels before during and after events
  • Update and distribute event calendars and online event listings
  • Conceptualize and execute online promotions to increase ticket sales
  • Maintain the facility website
  • Work irregular hours including evenings weekends and holidays
  • Perform all other assigned duties
