Job Description

PBN (Providence Business News) is a well-established business news publisher that offers comprehensive coverage of local business events, news, and insights. As a trusted source in the Providence community, PBN serves a wide audience, including business leaders, professionals, and decision makers. The company focuses on providing in-depth reporting combined with event-driven networking opportunities, supporting the regional business ecosystem. The open position reports directly to the Marketing & Events Director and plays a crucial role in coordinating all aspects of PBN's annual events. This role is responsible for developing and implementing detailed plans and checklists to ensure the successful execution of assigned events. It involves working closely with the Publisher, Sales teams, and other internal stakeholders to promote in-house advertising products and event-related promotions. A significant focus of the role includes managing and growing PBN's social media platforms as well as paid co-branded social media posts to maximize client and community engagement. The position also demands efficient management of registrations, event communications, and post-event follow-up to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

This role requires a self-starter with excellent organizational skills, creativity, and a proactive approach to project management. In addition to traditional event coordination duties, the incumbent will support revenue generation through ticket sales hosted on PBN.com, manage promotional plans within budget parameters, and oversee various digital platforms including WordPress for event-related pages and special landing pages. Proficiency or the willingness to learn software tools such as Active Campaign and Survey Gizmo will help the candidate execute online registration and sales initiatives effectively.

Further responsibilities include assisting with budgeting and expense monitoring, coordinating promotional advertisements, and integrating multimedia content such as videos and podcasts into the company website and promotional campaigns. The candidate will also represent PBN and its parent company, WCI, positively in the community and will be expected to maintain a "customer comes first" attitude while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality in all communications.

Job Duties

  • Coordinate all aspects of PBNs annual events
  • develop and implement plans and checklists for assigned events

  • manage all ROS ads and E-Blasts for clients and events
  • manage and grow social media platforms to promote PBN and community events

  • suggest new methods to enhance department operations
  • generate revenue through PBN.com ticket sales
  • develop promotional plans and coordinate media promotion within budget
  • manage event-related web pages and develop special landing pages in WordPress
  • process event registrations and manage day-of-event registration
  • follow up with attendees via email and update database
  • assist with budgeting and expense monitoring
  • coordinate promotion and ad flow with Graphic Designers and online components
  • train and develop online registration tools for attendee registrations and award nominations
  • promote and increase opt-in email addresses for daily e-newsletter
  • plan and execute social media campaigns and landing pages
  • create content for events and promotions
  • integrate video into company website and social media
  • coordinate video production and marketing of podcasts
  • represent PBN and WCI positively in the community
