Job Description

VRNation is a dynamic and innovative company dedicated to building the most connected and high-energy community within the vacation rental industry. Through its national roadshows, education programming, and community-driven experiences, VRNation brings vacation rental operators together in person, promoting collaboration, learning, and growth. With a focus on energizing the industry, VRNation drives education and engagement by organizing impactful events and delivering valuable content that resonates deeply with vacation rental professionals. The company continues to expand its reach and influence by facilitating meaningful connections that enhance the overall vacation rental landscape.

VRNation is currently seeking a highly skilled Marketing & Events Manager to join its team on a full-time, 1099 independent contractor basis. This role is pivotal to the company's mission, as it requires a strategic thinker and an operational leader who will run the full marketing and events engine end-to-end. Unlike a coordinator role, this position demands a builder and operator mindset, where the individual will own all VRNation marketing and event initiatives, ensuring alignment, consistency, and results across multiple channels. The Marketing & Events Manager will serve as the central hub for content creation, campaign execution, and event coordination. This role offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $65,000 to $85,000 annually, reflecting the importance and responsibilities associated with this position.

The Marketing & Events Manager will lead VRNation's social media strategy across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, developing a rolling content and marketing calendar that ties into events, education, sponsors, and broader community initiatives. They will be responsible for creating and publishing tailored content, repurposing material from webinars, podcasts, and live events into ongoing marketing assets, and maintaining excellence in brand alignment. In addition, they will spearhead marketing campaigns for the Annual Conference, VRNation Roadshows and Tours, Pro Academy, and the Podcast Station and Webinar series, coordinating closely with the email marketing contractor to ensure campaign integration and tracking performance metrics to improve outcomes continuously.

Beyond marketing, this role entails managing the VRNation website, updating event pages, sponsor visibility, and content regularly, and launching and maintaining new sections like Pro Academy. The Marketing & Events Manager will also implement website chat features to improve user engagement and conversions. On the events side, responsibility includes overseeing the production of conference signage, printed materials, and event programs, coordinating with designers, printers, and internal stakeholders, and supporting execution logistics at events. Attendance at most in-person events is expected to ensure marketing activities are impeccably executed on-site.

Success in this role is measured by consistent, high-quality content across all channels, a clear marketing cadence with a structured content pipeline, strong attendance and engagement at events, increased visibility for VRNation's education programs and community, and tight marketing execution tied to live events. The ideal candidate is execution-first, proactive, able to manage multiple projects efficiently without missing details, understands event timelines and pressures, and works independently in a fast-paced environment. Experience in events, hospitality, or the vacation rental industry is highly desirable, enhancing the candidate's ability to contribute effectively to VRNation's goals. This remote contract role offers flexibility and high ownership, requiring approximately 15% travel to attend VRNation's events.
