Area Community Services Employment & Training Council (ACSET) is a pivotal organization serving as the administrative and fiscal agent for the Michigan Works! Agency across Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon, and Ottawa Counties. This established nonprofit entity is dedicated to advancing workforce development initiatives in West Michigan by aligning employer talent needs with job seeker employment opportunities through strategic leadership and resource coordination. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator (Graphic Designer) position at ACSET is a full-time role based in Grand Rapids, offering 40 hours per week and compensation within Pay Range D, spanning an annual salary of $45,489 to $63,677 plus a comprehensive benefits package. In this vital role, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator will primarily focus on graphic design and communication efforts that advance ACSET's mission and its various brands under the West Michigan Works! umbrella. The position requires a diverse range of marketing competencies, including content creation, graphic design, event coordination, social media management, and corporate communication facilitation. The coordinator will craft and manage digital and print marketing materials, oversee multiple social media accounts, coordinate advertising campaigns, maintain websites, and produce multimedia content to effectively engage both internal and external stakeholders.

This role demands initiative, independent judgment, and the ability to manage complex workflows while collaborating with a dynamic marketing team. The coordinator will also support organizational goals through the creation of presentations, management of communications platforms, and participation in continuous quality improvement processes. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Effectively communicate in person and through various media to internal and external audiences regarding ACSET and its brands
  • contribute to the development and coordination of marketing and communications activities
  • plan and conduct internal and external events and related activities
  • develop content for and manage multiple social media accounts
  • support organizational communication through intranet content management
  • coordinate advertising campaign logistics
  • create and maintain workflows, registration forms, and applications to support approval processes and programs
  • write, proof, and edit marketing and communications materials including promotional materials, ads, newsletters, text campaigns, and press releases
  • create, edit, and maintain content for multiple websites
  • prepare routine and special reports and dashboards
  • create, edit, and deploy electronic newsletters and text campaigns
  • design and edit static and animated graphic files for print and digital uses
  • coordinate in-house and vendor printing and acquisition of promotional items
  • monitor contracts and agreements
  • create and deliver presentations
  • create photos and videos using editing software and maintain media library
  • attend professional development activities and represent the organization at community events
  • build relationships locally and statewide to enhance service to residents
  • actively participate in continuous quality improvement processes
  • perform other assigned duties
