Job Description

The hiring establishment for this position is a well-known restaurant industry company specializing in managing multiple restaurant locations, ensuring operational excellence, and achieving financial success. This company values leadership, integrity, and excellence in delivering high-quality dining experiences to its guests, focusing on operational standards, team development, and customer satisfaction. As a Market Leader within this company, you will be part of a dynamic and growth-oriented food service organization that emphasizes core company values and fosters a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.

The role of the Market Leader is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the successful operations of several restaurant locations. This position requires a visionary leader who can create a culture that reflects company values while increasing sales and profits through sound financial management. The Market Leader provides direction, support, and leadership to the General Managers within their portfolio, ensuring that each restaurant operates efficiently and maintains the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and customer service.

The Market Leader is responsible for optimizing operational performance by meeting or exceeding budgeted sales and profit goals while maximizing profit margins through careful expense control. This includes addressing labor and food cost efficiencies and making data-driven decisions to improve financial outcomes. In addition to financial responsibilities, the Market Leader ensures all restaurants comply with brand standards and operational policies, maintaining a professional restaurant image through adherence to cleanliness and appearance guidelines. This leadership role also requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional guest service, promptly addressing guest complaints, and fostering a culture of guest satisfaction.

Furthermore, the Market Leader plays a crucial role in talent management, including recruiting, selecting, training, supervising, coaching, counseling, and when necessary, terminating restaurant management staff. Developing managers by providing continuous feedback and establishing clear performance expectations is an important part of the job. The role also demands creating and maintaining plans for developing internal candidates for promotions, ensuring a sustainable pipeline of leadership talent.

Training is another key responsibility for the Market Leader, who provides guidance to managers on company policy changes, problem-solving, and ensures proper training for new manager trainees. The role involves developing the managerial and leadership skills of restaurant management staff through consistent coaching and regular meetings, constantly reinforcing the company values.

In terms of employee relations, the Market Leader conducts investigations when required, involving other leadership and Human Resources to resolve issues effectively. They coach management to improve performance and collaborate with restaurant teams to identify and address potential problems, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

From an administrative standpoint, the Market Leader ensures compliance with all relevant state, local, and federal regulations, as well as company policies. This includes performing loss prevention audits, completing financial reports accurately, responding to profit and loss statements, and acting as a liaison between the field operations and the home office.

Compensation for this role is dependent on experience, reflecting the level of responsibility and leadership required.
