The Market Grille Cook works directly within the Market Grille department, preparing a variety of hot and cold food items, including heat-and-eat options, to serve customers promptly and efficiently. The Market Grille Cook is responsible for ensuring that the food service area is clean, well-stocked, and operated in compliance with food safety standards. The cook plays a vital role in upholding company policies on personal hygiene and dress and must exhibit a customer-focused approach by greeting customers warmly and assisting them throughout their visit. The work environment is fast-paced and requires physical stamina to handle activities such as lifting, standing, and repetitive motions. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 or older
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • six months or less of related work experience
  • ability to solve practical problems
  • basic math skills
  • ability to follow verbal instructions
  • able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • able to perform physical activities including climbing balancing stooping kneeling reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting grasping feeling talking hearing and repetitive motions
  • pass a pre-employment drug screen

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • six months or less of similar or related work experience
  • ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
  • ability to do simple addition and subtraction
  • ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions

Job Duties

  • Provide prompt efficient and friendly customer service
  • smile and greet customers in a friendly manner
  • learn and use customers' names whenever possible
  • assist customers by escorting them to products securing out-of-reach items loading or unloading heavy items noting and passing along customer suggestions
  • answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service
  • work with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction
  • prepare cooking surfaces and food items including vegetables sides meats and breakfast foods
  • place food in hot cases monitor amounts and refill as necessary
  • be knowledgeable of all menu items and take guests' orders
  • prepare items for upcoming shifts
  • practice proper sanitation procedures and maintain a clean work area
  • adhere to personal hygiene dress and company policies
  • report to work on time as scheduled
  • provide direct customer service when needed
  • order products and supplies or notify manager of needs
  • assist in other store areas as needed
  • perform other related duties and special projects
