Job Requirements

  • Four-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or equivalent hotel experience
  • Minimum five years of sales experience in a similar sized hotel operation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi FDC
  • Knowledge of computer accounting programs and budgetary analysis
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to manage time, resources, and personnel effectively
  • Thorough understanding of travel industry and market trends

Job Duties

  • Setting goals and action plans around proactive business and account maintenance
  • Developing a marketing plan and collaborating with brand and ecommerce departments to optimize internet presence
  • Building a guest-focused sales team that understands departmental processes and action plans
  • Recording all business leads in Delphi and generating contracts, invoices, and reports while participating in daily sales strategies and forecasting
  • Collaborating with Operations to keep them informed of group and meeting room business
  • Coordinating with the front desk to ensure guests and potential guests’ business needs are met
  • Working closely with the General Manager to ensure sales goals and market share targets are achieved and developing market and sales strategies
  • Interviewing, hiring, training, and supervising sales staff through account reviews, correspondence monitoring, coaching, performance evaluations, and recommending disciplinary actions as needed
