Levy is currently seeking a part-time Prep Cook for its Mariners Clubhouse location in Peoria. This role offers a competitive pay range of $18.00 to $21.00 per hour, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and excellent customer service. The Prep Cook position plays a critical role in the kitchen by preparing food according to established recipes and production schedules. The ideal candidate will support kitchen operations by assisting in daily food preparation, maintaining high sanitation standards, and ensuring the quality and safety of food served to customers.

The Prep Cook will work closely with the Chef and kitchen staff to follow daily production sheets and recipes while maintaining accurate documentation such as waste logs and production worksheets. Food quality checks, proper labeling, and storage practices in compliance with HACCP guidelines are essential parts of the role to ensure food safety and regulatory adherence. Additionally, this position involves customer-facing responsibilities, including taking orders for quick-prep items and serving customers at multiple stations enthusiastically and efficiently.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food preparation or a culinary environment is beneficial
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the chef
  • Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
  • Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • Taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
  • Store, label and date all food items according to policy
  • Follow HACCP guidelines
  • Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time
  • Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
  • Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
  • Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • Resolve customer concerns
  • Perform other duties as assigned
