Located in Portsmouth, VA, PALFINGER is now seeking a Marine Service Technician to join their team at 705 Mt. Vernon Ave. This position is integral to the company’s service operations and reports directly to the Virginia Service Manager. The role is particularly well-suited for individuals with a strong technical background and hands-on experience in hydraulic, mechanical, and electromechanical systems, preferably with exposure to the marine or offshore industries. As a Marine Service Technician at PALFINGER, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, commissioning, and performing scheduled maintenance on lifeboats, davit and winch systems, and PALFINGER cranes. The scope of work involves diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, and overhauling various hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in the field, requiring proficiency in reading and interpreting manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.

The role demands a strong commitment to safety in line with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines, as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. The technician will also be expected to coordinate closely with Service Coordinators and Managers, providing clear updates on job progress and supporting assembly or production activities as necessary.
